Finally some decent snowmobile pictures! We were fortunate enough to enjoy about an hour of direct sunlight today. I got the camera out for a short time and scored a few of the best shots so far this season. Lighting makes all the difference.
Our group consisted of 12 riders from Idaho & Washington. We chose the Ruby Creek entry, which was well groomed and the smoothest I've ever seen it. In spite of some creative trailside coolant hose repairs to Kent's sled (hey, they lasted all day...), we reached the top in what seemed like record time.
"Wild Man Award" for the day goes to Stanley with an "unpiloted, down the mountain, over the rock, through the air, into the tree, nothin' but net" type "dismount". All this and no damage to him or the sled!

From my vantage point, the sled dissapeared behind the rock for what seemed like 10 seconds, at least. I thought it had stopped when all of the sudden it comes bailin' over the rock in a cloud of snow, flies through the air, and pickle-forks the tree that finally stopped it.
The only photo I got was the over-exposed piece of crap on the left, but you can see the sled's tracks up and over the rock.
I will conveinently leave out the part about leaving my rack bag unzipped and loosing my radio ! I will say "Thank you" however, to the person from the other group who found it and returned it.
Thanks everybody for another great ride. Here's some pictures. Click images for a larger view. If you see anything you'd like to print, drop me an e-mail at and I'll send you the high-resolution file straight from the camera.
